Q: What are Acme thread gages?

A: Acme thread gages are designed to check internal and external Acme threads. Acme threads consist of 29 degree included thread forms. There are two general applications of Acme thread. They are: general purpose and centralizing. The three most common classes of Acme thread for general purpose are 2G, 3G, and 4G. Class 2G Acme thread tends to be the preferable selection of the three. The three most common classes of Acme thread for centralizing are 2C, 3C, and 4C. Class 2C Acme thread tends to be the preferable selection of the three. Both Acme 2G and 2C provide maximum end play or backlash.

A: Yes, Gage Assembly manufactures gages both rings and plugs for NPSM thread. NPSM – National (American) Standard Pipe Straight Mechanical. This is a straight pipe thread required for mechanical assemblies.
